The kitchen is worse in person than in the picture. It will be gutted, header and all. The layout will stay the same but new cabinets and an island will be added. Can't wait to see sparkly new appliances!

Might I recommend Cabinets To Go for your kitchen. They are VERY reasonably priced. We designed the kitchen redo with Home Depot and then Lowes' design centers and had to go low grade, nothing fancy and would have spent $$$. We were able to do much more than we had initially intended with CTG. The only thing is they ship them to you in flat packs, but you and Mark seem to be the handy type, so with a little bit of time and effort it seems worth the great price.
